For businesses without a legal team on call

Should you accept, question, or negotiate your next contract?

That supplier or customer contract might look reasonable. But how confident are you that it works for your business?

Hecataeus is building an AI-powered commercial advisor that considers your business, your goals, and the contract together. Understand what's reasonable to accept, what's worth negotiating, and what could become a problem.

The contract says
“The Seller may terminate this Agreement for convenience at any time, effective immediately upon written notice to Buyer.”

Your supplier could end the contract immediately, even when you've done nothing wrong. Could your business keep operating if deliveries stopped tomorrow?

Recommended changeAsk for at least 30 days' written notice before the supplier can terminate for convenience.

Check Time to replace supplier

If finding a replacement takes longer than 30 days, you may need a longer notice period or transition protection.

The imbalance

They know what's in the contract. Shouldn't you?

The company that wrote the agreement chose the starting terms. It knows what it wants from the deal. But those terms may not reflect your costs, risks, or plans.

You shouldn't need a legal team on call to ask what an agreement could mean for your cash flow, day-to-day operations, and future choices. Hecataeus aims to make those business questions easier to answer—without pretending to replace a lawyer.

The decision, not a report dump

A recommendation, not a wall of warnings.

Every contract presents choices. The useful answer is not a long list of imperfect clauses—it's knowing which decisions actually matter to your business.

✓

Sign as written

When the facts support it, don't create a negotiation just for the sake of it.

Ask one important question

If a missing forecast, deadline, or business constraint could change the answer, find that out first.

↗

Push back where it matters

Focus on terms that create a meaningful cost, obligation, or risk—rather than everything that looks imperfect.

Business first. Contract second.

Your contracts should work for your business. Not the other way around.

Your cash flow, supplier dependencies, operating limits, and goals should shape the deal—not just the terms another business puts in front of you.

Proposed early-access workflow

From contract to a clearer decision.

Every early pilot assessment includes a human review while we test the advisor. This is not a self-serve contract upload service yet.

01

Tell us what you're dealing with

Apply for the pilot and tell us about the supplier or customer contracts you handle.

02

Share the relevant business facts

If invited, discuss the agreement, goals, deadlines, and constraints through an agreed secure process.

03

Get a focused, human-checked assessment

Discuss what looks acceptable, which terms deserve a question, and what may be worth changing.

Sometimes the right answer is “sign as written.” Sometimes it's “we need to know more first.” A person reviews each early pilot assessment; no recommendation substitutes for legal advice.

Business guidance, not legal advice

Hecataeus does not replace a qualified lawyer, especially for high-stakes contractual decisions.

Before any confidential contract is accepted: document handling, storage, AI providers, retention, deletion, and model-training practices will be disclosed and agreed before any pilot documents are accepted.

Questions before joining

Good questions are the point.

We're keeping the early-access offer straightforward while Hecataeus is under development.

Can I upload a contract today?

No. The public website does not accept contracts. An invited pilot participant will receive document-handling details before sharing an agreement.

Is a free first-contract review included?

Not automatically. We may invite selected applicants to a founder-reviewed pilot. The scope, availability, and any complimentary offer would be confirmed before participation.

Is Hecataeus legal advice?

No. The planned product focuses on business implications and decision support, not replacing legal counsel. A lawyer may still be needed.

Do I need a work email or to answer the pilot questions?

No. Personal and business email addresses are both welcome. The three follow-up questions are entirely optional and help us understand potential pilot fit.

What happens to my email?
